Join us for the best ride ever!

July 28-August 2

Simply put, Bark Fooey is an awesomely fun and super-social ride from the Seattle area to Vancouver, BC. Since 2008, this ride has headed to the great white north for fun, fireworks and frivolity. This ride is moderately paced, mostly flat and very party friendly. The route always includes sight-seeing opportunities and long food stops.

Before Covid, Bark Fooey was a two day ride to Vancouver with an overnight stay in Bellingham, but since then, the route has changed to accommodate border situations and such. In 2022, we are back on course to head to Vancouver, but this year, we are going to try something different. We ride up in three days, rather than two. That's a 33% more fun! Also, we have plans to ride back to Seattle via Victoria and some ferry's. Bark Fooey is completely unsupported with the exception of one SAG wagon that will carry luggage to Bellingham, WA and to Vancouver, BC. All riders are responsible for getting themselves and their bikes back home. Additionally, all riders are responsible for their own meals.

We arrive in Vancouver on a Saturday, and have the entire evening and next day to do as we please in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

BONUS: We finish the ride on one of the nights when Vancouver holds its 'Celebration of Light' international fireworks competition. Some years,we view the fireworks high atop the balcony of a nearby hotel in order to avoid the crowds. This year, we are going to join the throngs of other viewers and watch the fireworks from English Bay. If you have never been to this event, I urge you to join us. The fireworks are out of this world. On Sunday, Vancouver holds their joyous Pride parade. The following day is Canada Day. When we arrive, Vancouver will be in full party mode.

If this ride sounds fun to you, please contact the ride leader, Matt, with your questions and intentions. Reserve your spot on the ride ASAP since the limit for the ride is 25 riders.

The best way to get hold of the ride leader or members of the group is to find us on Facebook. Search for Bark Fooey and ask to join. We won't say, No.

Routes for Bark Fooey '22 (a five day adventure this time)

July 28 - August 2

So this year's plan is to extend the ride up to three days. Folks who want to add some mild gravel and an extra day can start on Thursday and ride from West Seattle to Snohomish via Fall City and Duvall. Day two starts in Snohomish and is pretty much the same as the old tried-and-true Bark Fooey route with the day ending in Bellingham. If folks want a more traditional Bark Fooey, they can start on this day. Day three is also exactly the same as in the past as we ride into BC on Saturday.

On Sunday, those that aren't returning home right away can stay an extra day in BC and ride around the city.
The next day, Monday, we ride back home via a ferry ride to Vancouver island. We overnight it near Victoria and then hop on the short ferry ride to Port Angeles for the last and longest day of riding back to Seattle.
