Join us for the best ride ever!

July 24-25, 2015

Simply put, BARK FOOEY is an awesomely fun and social two day ride from Woodinville, WA to Vancouver, BC, with an overnight stay in Bellingham, WA. Total mileage is 90 miles the first day and 75 miles the second day. It is mostly flat with a few random hills thrown in for fun.

The first BARK FOOEY started in 2008. I had planned to ride the RSVP for a sixth straight time, but it sold out before I had a chance to sign up. So, I decided to do my own damn ride. I pick a different week in August, invited friends and strangers, and headed up on my own. Since then, every year, a handful of daring fun loving cyclists join me as we head north for fun and excitement.

Our route very loosely follows that of the RSVP, but diverges a great deal on day two. We enter Vancouver from the south where the riding is easier and the bridges we cross are more exciting. We use the trail systems whenever possible, and on day one, we ride the Centennial trail for over 30 miles of cycling bliss.

BARK FOOEY is completely unsupported with the exception of one SAG wagon that will carry luggage to Bellingham, WA and to Vancouver,BC. All riders are responsible for getting themselves and their bikes back home. Additionally, all riders are responsible for their own meals.

We arrive in Vancouver on a Saturday, and have the entire evening and next day to do as we please in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

BONUS: We finish the ride on one of the nights when Vancouver holds its 'Celebration of Light' international fireworks competition. We view the fireworks high atop the balcony of a nearby hotel in order to avoid the crowds. If you have never been to this event, I urge you to join us. The fireworks are out of this world.

If this ride sounds fun to you, please contact the ride leader, Matt, with your questions and intentions. Reserve your spot on the ride ASAP since the limit for the ride is 25 riders.

To secure a spot on the ride, you need to pay the small fee of $40. All payments are final. If you decide to not do the ride and let me know by June 1, you will get half your money back. After June 1, no refunds will be given.

The best way to get hold of the ride leader or members of the group is to find us on Facebook. Search for Bark Fooey and ask to join.

BARK FOOEY update

Bark Fooey 3-D is shaping up to be another grand ride. Already we have at least 6 new riders and commitments from a bunch of old riders (that's right. I called you old).

The date for the ride has been confirmed for July 30-31. We leave from Woodenville at 8AM(ish) and ride to Bellingham. The next day, we ride to Vancouver.

If you have not done so yet, REGISTER. we are quickly reaching our limit of 40 riders so don't get left out. Also, if you have not done so yet, get your hotel room reservations. I have reserved some rooms in the Bellingham Travel Lodge and the Vancouver Blue Horizon. You should too.

If you have any questions, contact me.
